In the spotlight: Ursula Raab

Since 2003, Ursula Raab has been a developer at 4flow software – of that time, she spent 14 years at 4flow’s headquarters in Berlin, Germany. In 2017, she took on the challenge of establishing the 4flow software team at 4flow’s Budapest office. In one year, her team has grown to over 10 product managers, testers and developers. “Each new colleague brings their own personality and input to the team – it’s a lot of fun,” she said.

In recent years – in addition to developing the integrated standardized software for supply chain and transportation planning 4flow vista® – Ursula also spent time working in software support and project management. “The variety in my work has allowed me to see our product from many different perspectives. This broad knowledge has been very helpful in leading the team,” said the Berlin native, who has trained many of 4flow’s team members and customers on how to use 4flow vista®.

Before 4flow, the financial mathematician worked as an organization programmer and contributor to research projects. “My interest in the new economy led me to 4flow from the world of academia,” said Raab. She thinks that in addition to the variety of tasks, the consistently new software topics and the respectful interaction with her colleagues make 4flow a great place to work. These are also reasons why she, the team, the software, and 4flow as a whole have continued to develop so well.

In her free time, Ursula is now learning Hungarian and spends time exploring her new home city. “Apart from the beautiful architecture and friendly people, the things I like most about Budapest are the many small jazz clubs with diverse audiences and the hiking trails in the back country.”
